Recently went to an Umbro x New York Cosmos launch to support.

Chairman, CEO (and ambitious gentleman) Paul Kemsley and Honorary President Pelé (!!) are leading the relaunch of the New York Cosmos soccer club, the former historic NASL team founded in 1971.

Aiming to be the 20th MLS team in 2013, former Manchester United player Eric Cantona was appointed as Director of Soccer this past January. Learn more about the NY Cosmo's fantastic history and future at NYCosmos.com.

I was also graciously asked to design ties for the New York team. You can see the ties on Pelé, Paul Kemsley, and Eric Cantona, respectively.

Coming to Nokia Plaza in Los Angeles on March 25, is a one-of-a-kind sculpture that pays homage to one of the greatest boxers of all-time, Mr. Muhammad Ali. The sculpture, made up of 1,300 boxing speed bags, and standing 22 feet high, is held up by 5 miles of stainless steel cable and an astonishing 2 miles of aluminum tubing. Taking three years to complete, the internationally acclaimed artist Michael Kalish is the man behind reALIze, the conceptual and thought-provoking monument of the one of the greatest boxers to ever live.

Frank Sinatra's Shirt For $5

Jackpot! A Laid-off construction worker purchased a tuxedo shirt at a yard sale in Newport Beach, California, for 5 clams. Turns out? The shirt was tailor-made for Frank Sinatra by shirtmaker Nat Wise, with the tags reading "Frank Sinatra" and dated "Feb. 1987". Rick Gorski, who did his background research on the shirt, contacting Anto Distinctive Shirtmakers (which had merged with Nat Wise) to inquire about the shirt's authenticity.

The $5 garment and Ol' Blue Eyes measurements (which were still on file) were a match. Apparently, Ol' Blue Eyes liked it with a tag 2 inches from the bottom, seven button holes and two in the french cuff, gathered sleeves and a double-stitched placket. Now, the shirt is up for auction -- at Don Presley Auctions -- making this $5 investment a collector's find. (via LATimes)

In 1948, The Wright Brother's Estate donated 300 glass plate negatives and 2 nitrate negatives to the Library of Congress of photos that the Wright Brothers snapped between 1897 and 1928. Of the 300+ photos, 200 were taken between 1901 and 1911 to document their first forage into flight. Pretty spectacular!

Japan's Cross Company has raised its stake to 67% as the majority shareholder of the New York-based apparel company Thom Browne.

This is a major win for the company for which had been struggling this past year. President Josh Sparks, who had been instrumental in restructuring the business since he joined the company in July, also initiated a critical overhaul of the company which included new sportswear and classics ranges to expand the Thom Browne brand.
